The European Union to provide Moldova with a grant totaling € 10.7 million to support the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement
This is provided for by an appropriate financing agreement between the Moldovan Government and the European Commission. The Cabinet approved during a meeting on Tuesday the start of negotiations on this agreement, endorsing also the subsequent signing of this document. As noted by the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection, Ala Nemerenco, funding will be provided to Moldova from the EU budget through the European Neighborhood Instrument. The main goal of the allocation of these funds is to support the implementation of the Moldova-EU association agreement, including by supporting Moldova’s participation in various EU programs: Erasmus +, COSME, Horizon 2020, Europa Creativa, 3rd EU Health Program 2014-2020, promoting gender equality, empowering women, combating domestic violence that affects women and children, etc. The project of this EU assistance is related to the “Moldova 2030” Strategy and will contribute, first of all, to the goals of gender equality, sustainable development, improvement of health, education, etc. The beneficiaries of the agreement will be: the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, local authorities of the Ungheni and Cahul districts, and civil society organizations. // 23.07.2019 - InfoMarket.
