In Moldova, a new competition for grants of the European Union up to 25 thousand euros has been announced for projects to strengthen business cooperation between the banks of the Dniester river.

The competition is held within the framework of the EU Program “Confidence Building Measures”, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP in Moldova. The program helps to strengthen the trust of residents from both banks of the Dniester by attracting them to joint development projects. As noted in the report of the UN Development Program in Moldova, in particular, the European Union provides financial support in the form of grants for projects to create or strengthen platforms for cooperation between business associations and NGOs from both banks of the Dniester. Non-profit organizations, both from the left and from the right bank of the Dniester can apply for financing projects in the amount of up to 25 thousand euros. During the competition, projects will be selected to create sustainable platforms for business cooperation, uniting both banks of the Dniester, or to strengthen existing platforms. The competition is open for design ideas that will have a significant impact on various sectors of the economy on both banks, in order to solve the main problems of business development in the relevant areas, which will have a positive impact on a significant number of potential beneficiaries, especially economic entities. The activities included in the project proposal will allow entrepreneurs from both banks to cooperate and benefit from economic relations, with the support of participants of business sites in areas of mutual interest. Projects can be submitted by registered non-profit or non-governmental organizations (business associations, public associations, producer unions, employer associations, chambers of commerce, non-profit partnerships, etc.). Interested organizations can submit their applications and project proposals, given that all project activities should be carried out from October 2019 to October 2021. Applicants can count on grant support of up to 25 thousand euros, but additional funds as their own Contributions are encouraged. Information seminars will be held on August 5 at the Jolly Alon Hotel in Chisinau and on August 6 at the Rossiya Hotel in Tiraspol. The application deadline is August 28th. Earlier, the EU supported the creation of 8 partnerships between representatives of business communities from both banks of the Dniester. As a result, agricultural producers made joint stands at international exhibitions and concluded contracts for the export of products to Western countries.
