Moldova’s sales revenues in the electronic communications sector decreased in the second quarter of 2020 by 6.8% versus the same period in 2019 and amounted to 1.4 billion lei.
The National Agency for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technology reported this, noting that, at the same time, the income received from the sale of Pay TV services increased in the II quarter of 2020, compared to the same quarter last year, by 10. 8% and amounted to 45.6 million lei, while the revenues received from the market of fixed Internet access services increased by 1.6% - up to 344.7 million lei. At the same time, the volume of revenues from the sale of mobile and fixed telephony services decreased by 9.9%, and respectively, by 15.9%, amounting to 707.1 million lei, and, accordingly, 97.9 million lei. The volume of sales in the market of mobile allotted Internet access services decreased by 1.9% to 57.9 million lei, while income from other activities in the field of electronic communications decreased by 2.2% to 168.3 million lei. According to ANRCETI, the highest level of average monthly income per user (ARPU) in the II quarter of 2020 was in the market of fixed Internet access services - 168 lei, while it decreased by 5.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. The size of this indicator in the market of dedicated mobile Internet access services amounted to 88.5 lei (+ 7.4%), in the market of mobile telephony services - 68.8 lei (-7.5%), in the pay TV services market – 43.8 lei (+ 7.3%), while in the fixed telephony market it was 30.9 lei (-12.9%). //05.10.2020 - InfoMarket.
