
Currently, 93% of Moldova IT Park resident companies are located in Chisinau.
According to the Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, such data were presented at the meeting “Chisinau - the developing direction of the year in the IT-sphere of Central and Eastern Europe” with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Moldova IT Park and GIZ. The mayor drew attention to the fact that the number of residents of Moldova IT Park recently exceeded 600, of which 100 companies joined the IT Park in 2020. The resident companies were founded by investors from Moldova and 34 other countries: USA (22 companies), Romania (15), Italy (13), UK (12) and Germany (9). According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, during the meeting the parties discussed the coordination of joint actions of the authorities at the government and the Chisinau mayor's office level and the definition of common steps to strengthen the competitiveness of the IT sector. The meeting participants drew attention to the fact that the experience of recent years shows that in the field where competitive salaries are provided, it was possible to reduce the outflow of talented youth from the country. Ion Ceban confirmed the intention of the mayor's office to provide the necessary conditions for the development of these IT companies in Chisinau, stressing that creating favorable conditions for investors is one of the main goals of the local government. He also noted that Moldova IT Park, Tekwill's network of excellence centers, various university platforms and related events held by various participants in related fields have attracted the attention of the global IT community to Chisinau. At the last event for Central and Eastern Europe, held in Poland in January 2020 - CEE Business Services Summit & Awards - Chisinau received the title of "New Direction of the Year in the IT Field".
