The volume of Moldovan exports to Romania decreased in Q1 2020 by 8.9% versus the same period in 2019, amounting to $178 million.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of domestic goods supplied to Romania in the total volume of Moldovan exports decreased over the indicated period from 26.67% to 26.38%. However, the volume of imports from Romania in the first 3 months of 2020, compared with the same period of the previous year, decreased by 1.5% to $177.4 million, and its share in the total Moldovan imports fell from 13.19% to 12.99%. As a result, the positive trade balance of Moldova with Romania in January-March 2020 amounted to $0.6 million against a surplus of $15.35 million for the same period a year.
