
The volume of Moldovan exports in January-September 2020 amounted to $1 billion 755.5 million, having decreased by 13.4% compared to the same period in 2019.
The National Bureau of Statistics informed that, the export of domestic goods for 9 months in 2020 amounted to $1.3 billion (76.5% of the total), having decreased by 6.58% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the re-export of goods in January-September 2020 amounted to $411.7 million (23.5% of the total volume), which is 30.1% less than in the same period of 2019. At the same time, the re-export of goods after processing (clothing, shoes, shoe parts, armchairs, electrical wiring and cables, other products for the automotive industry, peeled nuts, chairs and other furniture, suitcases, textiles, toys, etc.) accounted for 17.2% of total exports, and classic re-export of foreign goods (medicines, cigarettes, wine distillates, whiskey, gin, vodka, liqueurs, beer, fuel, fabrics, knitwear, essential oils, perfumes and cosmetics, vehicles, furniture, etc.) - 6.3%. According to the NBS, for the export of goods abroad during this period, motor transport was most often used - 87.5% of the total volume, followed by sea transport - 7.2%, rail - 3.1%, air - 2.1%, postage - 0.1%. In general, Moldovan exports to the EU countries in January-September 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, decreased by 10.1% - to $1 billion 159.1 million, to the CIS countries - decreased by 8.9% - to $275.1 million, and to other countries - decreased by 26.1% - to $321.3 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan exports for this period increased from 63.65% to 66.03%, the share of CIS countries increased from 14.9% to 15.67%, while the share of other countries decreased from 21.46% to 18.3%.
