The Chisinau mayor's office will send a request to the government to increase the standards for the distance of gas stations from residential buildings and social facilities from 25 to 50 meters.
The Chisinau Municipal Council made a decision to regulate the location of petrol stations and oil product warehouses in the territory of Chisinau municipality. According to the document, gas stations and warehouses of petroleum products can be located only in zones that are assigned the urbanistic code "C7" in the local urban planning regulations. The design and construction of a gas station can be carried out on the basis of a detailed plan, after preliminary consultations with the population. The placement of gas stations is prohibited in the zones of protection of water basins, sources of drinking water, sanatoriums and balneological centers, in green zones and natural reserves, in the zone of protection of historical and cultural monuments, as well as near them. It is also prohibited to build gas stations on the territory of social institutions (schools, kindergartens, private and public medical institutions, play and sports grounds), near public buildings, recreation facilities. According to the decision of the advisers, within 15 days, the mayor's office will send a request to the government to return to the previous standards for the distance of gas stations - a distance of 50 meters (today, building codes provide for a minimum distance of 25 meters from a gas station to the walls of residential and other public buildings and structures). The explanatory note to the document notes that at present 135 gas stations have been installed in Chisinau, despite the fact that, according to the norms, 110 gas stations for 2 dispensers each are enough to service all transport registered in the capital.//06.08.2020 - InfoMarket.
