In 2019, residents of Moldova IT Park increased sales by 64% compared to the previous year - up to 3.65 billion lei.
During a briefing on Tuesday, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Vitalie Tarlev, presenting the results of the activities of Moldova IT Park, noted that the results of last year significantly exceeded expectations. About 50% of Moldova IT Park sales came from the development of software for customers, 30.2% of sales were consultations and services in the field of IT, 9% - data processing (big data analytics), website administration and related activities, 7.3% - development of computer games and other software products, 4.5% - other activities. About 82% of the products and services of Moldova IT Park (for 3 billion lei) were exported, while the park accounted for 87% of the total export of IT services in Moldova (5 billion lei). The remaining 18% of production was delivered to the domestic market: beneficiaries of goods and services of residents of Moldova IT Park were found inside Moldova, mainly companies, as well as citizens and the government. “Such data indicate that the IT industry is connected to international markets, and if we did not create Moldova IT Park, the industry could emigrate to other markets,” said Vitalie Tarlev. In 2019, investments of residents of Moldova IT Park increased by 200% compared to 2018 and reached 92 million lei. About 67% of investments were made by resident enterprises with foreign capital, 33% - companies with local capital. The total number of residents of Moldova IT Park in 2019 increased by 55% - from 338 to 525 companies (221 new companies received resident status, 34 companies lost this status), and in the first half of 2020 the number of residents increased by 10% and reached 578 companies. About a quarter of the residents (133) are companies with foreign capital that have contributed capital from 33 countries of the world: 22 companies from the USA, 15 from Romania, 13 from Italy, 12 from the UK, and 9 from Germany and France. It is worth noting that residents with foreign capital provide 55% of the turnover of Moldova IT Park. According to Tarlev, last year the tax deductions of Moldova IT Park and its residents amounted to 403.2 million lei (+ 19% compared to 2018), of which 268.3 million lei amounted to a single tax, and 134.9 million lei - other taxes and fees. “The rates of tax deductions are eloquent, especially for those who feared that the tax regime provided to the IT park would not generate revenue for the state. For comparison, free economic zones provided the same amount of tax deductions for more than 20 years as an IT park for 2 years, ”Tarlev noted. At the same time, the number of jobs increased in Moldova IT Park: from 6739 in 2018 to 9716 (+ 44%) in 2019, and by the end of June 2020, 10322 employees worked in the IT park. Moreover, while before the introduction of the virtual park regime, specialists' salaries averaged 10-12 thousand lei per month, then within the framework of Moldova IT Park they reached 29 766 lei per month. “We calculated that the average salary fund in the IT park is about 3.3 billion lei, of which 2.5 billion lei are spent on consumption in Moldova. All state investments in the creation of the park pay off in 1.5 years. And every engineer who lingers in Moldova contributes to the creation of another 6-8 other jobs, ”said Vitalie Tarlev. Recall that Moldova IT Park was created in early 2018. The main feature of the virtual IT park is a simplified tax model in the form of a single tax of 7% for residents.//07.07.2020 — InfoMarket.
