681 economic agents have already received assistance from the state in the form of partial compensation for crop losses due to unfavorable weather conditions, to whose accounts was transferred a total of 147.68 million lei.
This was discussed at a meeting of the Parliamentary Commission on Agriculture and Food Industry on Wednesday, at which was heard a report on the implementation of measures to compensate for losses in agriculture for 2020. According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, the government will allocate in general compensation for 191.6 thousand hectares, occupied by grain of the first group, of which: winter wheat - 151.6 thousand hectares, barley - 23.5 thousand hectares, rapeseed - 11.6 thousand hectares, reseeding - 4.9 thousand hectares. Also, compensation will be allocated for 627.7 hectares of fruit plantations, 90.2 hectares of vineyards, 17.8 hectares of vegetables grown in the open field, and 120.9 hectares of peas affected by hail. According to representatives of the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), a total of 2,269 agricultural producers will receive compensation. At the moment, the agency has received 1,455 dossiers, of which 1,430 are for compensation for the loss of grain from the first group affected by the drought, and 25 are for compensation for crop losses from hail. The amount of compensation requested is 289.6 million lei. At the same time, 147.68 million lei have already been transferred to the accounts of 681 economic agents. Of these, 672 farmers received 146.9 million lei as compensation for crop losses due to drought, and 9 producers, whose lands suffered from hail, received 0.7 million lei. Herewith, 512 applications for the amount of 110.1 million lei are in the process of consideration, and another 236 applications for the amount of 30.5 million lei have the status of registration in territorial divisions. Of the total number of applications, 140 came from Comrat, 121 from Causeni, 116 from Cimislia, 108 from Stefan Voda and 96 from Ceadir Lunga. According to AIPA, the acceptance of applications for compensation for crop losses due to the consequences of natural disasters began on August 10.
